About GDICPA
Guangdong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (GDICPA, hereinafter referred to as the Institute) was founded in December 1989, and was merged with Guangdong Institute of Certified Internal Auditors in November 1996 to form the current GICPA. GICPA is a juridical association that administers in accordance with laws the accountancy profession in Guangdong Province. GICPA is a provincial organization of Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) and is under the guidance and supervision of Department of Finance of Guangdong Province.
The purposes of the Institute are: providing services, monitoring, regulating and coordinating. That is, the Institute is devoted to provide services to CPAs and accounting firms as well as the Socialist Market Economy; to monitor the service quality and professional ethics of CPAs and accounting firms; to regulate the accountancy profession according to relevant laws; to coordinate the relationship within and beyond the accountancy profession in order to protect the legitimate rights of CPAs and accounting firms.
The main responsibilities of the Institute are: to attend to the certification of public accountants and the set-up of accounting firms, and the supervision and administration of their professional conducts; to review and administrate GICPA members; to guide and supervise the practices of CPAs; to guide and monitor the implementation of professional standards and rules for CPAs; to organize National Uniform CPA Examinations; to organize and deliver training programs for GICPA members; to conduct activities of exchanging experiences and professional study; to coordinate the relationship within and beyond the accountancy profession in order to protect the legitimate rights of GICPA members; to organize international co-operations and exchanges;to provide guidance to the local institutes of CPAs; and to conduct other relevant work stipulated by laws and regulations, and entrusted or authorized by government agencies.
